INTEGRATED AND CERTIFIED AGRICULTURE
We have always applied the most thorough systems of “integrated farming” under the supervision and control of “Parco Tecnologico ed Agroalimentare 3A dell’Umbria”, who shall also certify the quality. All of this allows the customer to have genuine and safe fruit, without intermediaries, directly from the producer.
Integrated farming, in fact, is a crop protection practice, which provides a drastic reduction in the use of pesticides and harmful substances for both humans and useful insects. One of the techniques used against harmful insects is the inclusion of other insects that are their natural predators and that are not harmful to crops, another technique is using more resistant crop varieties. Moreover, out of respect for the environment, we have chosen to stop using chemical herbicides and to replace them only with mechanical treatments.

The method of integrated farming requires a high level of specialization together with the maximum reduction in the use of pesticides; therefore, the certification for the company that implements this method is anything but obvious: La Saporita not only follows the regulations of the Umbria Region, but above all it is proud to be able to display the prestigious Global Gap certification (GNN code 4056186828576), which has been extended not only to the products but to the entire company process in terms of health, taxation and regularity of employment contracts among others.
Green Energy
Our company is self-sufficient
As a further confirmation of our deep respect for the environment, our company has been self-sufficient in energy consumption for over a year, with about 600 photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the warehouses and a photovoltaic system installed on the ground covering an area of 1 hectare and with a nominal power of 999 kw/h. The clean energy produced in this way makes completely autonomous the functioning of our 5 large cold rooms, 4 of which with “controlled atmosphere”, as well as the activation of the irrigation pumps of the company itself and what is more, thanks to the energy produced by the photovoltaic system on the ground we contribute to the distribution of renewable energy to the public electricity network.
